Héloïse Rémy is a choreographer born in the region of Normandy, in France.
There, she discovered dance; dance discovered her, and she began studying
classical ballet in the conservatoire of Rouen. In Rouen, she also studied
medicine for a few years with the intention of doing humanitarian work.
At this moment, she discovered contemporary dance : a revelation about
her true vocation. So, she quit university to dance full time and went
to live in Quebec in 1996.
In Montreal, she focused on creation and realized her first choreographies
: « du Pareil au Même »(1999), « le monde est
petit »(2001),« Casatierra »(2005) and « La Traversée
» (2006).
Today, her artistic influences come straight from her practice of meditation,
singing, yoga, aïkido, and latin percussions.
Héloïse has just started a world tour with La Traversée (Crossing), a choreography for a group of human beings who breath
together.
